Why We Teach

Some people assume that yoga teachers were born perfectly balanced, spiritually aware, and well-behaved. Most were not. We can’t speak for all yoga teachers, but we ourselves were born (and remain) imperfect beings who came to-- and continue-- this practice in an effort to find balance between the light and darkness inherent in the human psyche. Like many compassionate and empathetic/empathic people, we have struggled to make sense of the suffering we see in the world, and which we, like all humans, sometimes experience ourselves. 

With regular, healthy movement and mindful breathing, we feel that joy can be ever-present, even in times of hardship, and even in the face of adversity. Even in the depths of sadness, we can feel the embers of joy, deep inside, never extinguished. We also feel that joy and hope are essential to any who wish to find the courage and motivation to make the world a better place. 

Through our practices, we have found the ability to find peace and contentment, and feel called to share these practices with others.

Beth Onward

Trained in: Hatha Yoga, Aerial Yoga, Restorative Yoga,

Deep Tissue Massage

Beth grew up in a very holistic household, and came to alternative health and wellness at a very early age- playing with crystal singing bowls and flower essences as early as elementary school. Experiencing illness herself and within her family is what guided her to be called to explore helping others find wellness through yoga and other holistic approaches. She believes it is crucial to meet your body where it is each day, in each class. Beth brings an element of lightheartedness to her classes that makes her a favorite wherever she teaches. In 2018, she was a presenter at the Minneapolis Yoga Conference, with Indu Arora, Tommy Rosen, Leo Rising, Faith Hunter, and many more for the second year running. Becky Golberg

Trained in: Pilates, Vinyasa Yoga, Meditation, Thai Yoga Massage, TRX

A former ballet and modern dancer and teacher, Becky discovered Pilates and yoga after several years of inactivity. This inactivity wasn't working for her, and she felt out of shape and depressed. Once engaged in these breath-based movement systems, things started to fall back into place, and she found herself happier and more grounded than ever before. She now combines her knowledge of the body, and her understanding of movement, to teach with a focus on alignment and mind-body connection. She strongly believes in the power of mindful movement, breath, and positive thinking to heal and unite the body and the mind, and her wish is to share this faith in movement, along with a great love of life and laughter, with you.
She brings this philosophy into all of her classes and trainings. Becky has been a Pilates Teacher trainer for over 4 years, and is the Director of the Pilates Teacher Training Program at Six Degrees in Uptown Minneapolis, Minnesota.
